Light Update

April 28, 2011

I have been neglecting this blog for sometime now… It’s funny how the nearest of things can feel like the furthest.  I often remember to post an update as I’m boarding a flight out of Kuwait.  Then I get too busy when I come back home.

There are so many changes to the area with roads, footpaths, road signs and even newly finished houses.  New mosques are nearing completion and many gardens are also taking shape.

The most recent update which I could not ignore is the testing of the street lights earlier today.  It looks like the final set of street lamps will be switched on this week.  It will feel very different – I remember when phase 1 was switched on back in December 2007.

Night and Day

July 3, 2010

With the terrible weather and the extra heat associated with road-surfacing, there has been a lot of activity at night recently.  I took these shots outside our house a couple of nights ago.  They started working around midnight and finished just before 4am.

Street Lights

June 6, 2010

Well… no lights, but the lamp posts are up.  I can’t believe these people have to work in these temperatures! It was boiling today.

Mangaf is starting to take shape – despite the mess.

Christmas Lights

December 23, 2007

Last week was an historic one for Mangaf. The lights that have spent months in idle mode have finally been switched on. I actually saw someone walking their dog on the night before Eid…. He may have been doing this for months – but it’s the first time he’s visible.

Great news for all in the area…. Congratulations.

On a separate note, I’m sorry I have not blogged for ages…. This was due to a busy period at work.

Until next time…. Eid Mubarak and Merry Christmas.
