New Bridge

June 22, 2008

I read this in the local daily Al Qabas on 20 June 2008. It’s about a new bridge linking Mangaf to Sabahiya over Highway 30. I guess it’s the junction by the fire station (Road 101). The article is short and lacks all the important details such as location, dates, costs etc. However it does mention many names. If any of you reading this know any of these people, please ask them about roads for Blocks 1 and 2.

I found the equivalent on Al Watan daily. It mentions completion in the next six months! Expect major roadworks at this junction soon.

Links to both are below:

I’m not sure how this will help??
does it link “fire station” street to sabahiya or will it be used to replace the signal opposite to Sahel club??

I don’t know to be honest. It’s not at all clear at this stage. The fact that they mention a bridge makes me think of the fire station road because 30 is already on a bridge at the Sahel Club exit.

I will post an update if I hear any more details. Please feel free to do the same.

  4. [...] the project will take as long as we’ve been waiting for it.  I first mentioned it in 2008 here, and again last year [...]
