Today was very hot indeed. Clear skies and the unforgiving sun gave us temperatures well into the high forties! These guys were working until about 10 minutes before this photo was taken. They were resting on a roundabout under the shade of the trees (yes it makes a hell of a difference – excuse the pun).

The reason I am posting this particular photo is because I realised that I’ve been looking at the progress of the buildings and houses but not at the people achieving these fantastic results.
Today is a truning point for this blog – I will focus on the builders as well as the town, and will bring you some of their stories if they allow me to share them.
Until next time…

Hey! I peeked through your flickr pictures and saw your house. I know exactly where it is because after we bought our home, I saw the home to the left of yours when it was up for sale and CRIED because I wanted that one instead. I also noticed your house because I love the two trees in the front. Very simple and elegant.
I love living down here but the no roads thing is a pain. Lots of trash, rats, graffiti on the substations, etc. etc.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing the pictures you take of our neighborhood. It sounds like there are a lot of interesting people living here.

firstly thanks for the comment and compliments. i’m pleased to hear your view on the trees, we like them too. in fact my wife has named our house “twotrees”!
As for living here, apart from the graffiti – it’s all temporary… The trash is an issue but once they pay attention to the area (as more families move in) it will improve and the rats will go wherever there is construction!!
all the best…
